Report: Unjustified set to power up with EG duo
According to sources with knowledge of the transfer, Dust2.us understands that Unjustified will massively upgrade their roster heading into 2024 with the addition of two former Evil Geniuses players. The Canadian organization is set to unveil former EG IGL Colby "Walco" Walsh alongside AWPer Jerric "wiz" Jiang, with the duo coming in to replace McKinley "Cyrix" Hollison and John "arcade" Rogel, who both recently exited the team.
These changes are expected to be a massive upgrade to Unjustified, with both Walco and wiz having experience competing at the tier one and tier two levels. Unjustified are in need of this experience as they prepare for their PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR Closed Qualifier appearance. While Walco's tenure was largely uneventful on EG, his level of experience as an IGL dating back to RBG cannot be understated.
The addition of wiz should also give Unjustified a fairly significant firepower upgrade, with the 22-year-old being regarded as one of the top AWPers in the domestic scene. Unjustified will surely need wiz if they want to make a dent against the likes of Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli, Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich, and potentially Casper "cadiaN" Møller in the RMR Closed Qualifier.
The reported addition of Walco and wiz to Unjustified's ranks comes shortly after Dust2.us reported that Paytyn "junior" Johnson and Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott will join Nouns after being released by Evil Geniuses yesterday. With the quartet out of Evil Geniuses, the team will lose their spot in the RMR Closed Qualifier, with the invite passing to Wildcard as the next highest-ranked team.
Unjustified is expected to consist of:
-
Sebastian "Seb" Dietrich
-
Mason "Lake" Sanderson
-
Kyle "Wolffe" Greenfield
-
Colby "Walco" Walsh
-
Jerric "wiz" Jiang
The PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 North American Closed Qualifier is set to begin on January 12th.
