Complexity to call upon Sonic once more
Sources tell Dust2.us that Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek will continue to compete for the team in their upcoming run at BLAST Spring finals. The 24-year-old replaced Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli on the roster for IEM Dallas as a result of the Norweigan AWPer running into difficulties with American immigration. As a result, Sonic will continue on from his solid showing in Dallas, concluding the season with the team in Washington D.C.
Despite the fact that Dallas was not a fruitful endeavor for Complexity, being knocked out 9th-12th at the hands of Cloud9 in Group B, Sonic adapted quite well considering the short notice. Posting a 1.12 rating, Sonic was the highest-rated player on the team ahead of Michael "Grim" Wince with a 1.09. Sonic proved vitally important in the affair against the CIS giant C9, dominating the server with a 32-17 stat line to win Ancient 16-13.
In a similar fashion to Sonic's inclusion in Complexity, the Dallas-based organization's participation also came as a last-minute replacement following visa issues. NAVI was scheduled to compete in the capital of the United States before being prevented by visa issues, resulting in Complexity being the only North American team in attendance as they lost to Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyljev and co. in the qualification match back at BLAST Spring Groups.
Complexity will look as follows at BLAST Spring Finals:
-
Johnny "JT" Theodosiou
-
Justin "FaNg" Coakley
-
Ricky "floppy" Kemery
-
Michael "Grim" Wince
-
Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek (Substitute)
-
Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen (Coach)
The NA hopefuls will take on Danish giants Heroic in the first round on Wednesday 04:00PM.
