Changes in Denial roster; dapr out, mizoo and Zellsis join, Toy to coach
Last week, news broke that Denial was allegedly once again in hot water over failure to pay their players. Now, team member Dylan "RIKO" Arnce has announced via Twitter that there are roster changes in the squad:
The new additions, Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro and Lonnie "mizoo" Tran both come with experience at the Premier level, and Zellsis has stood-in for the squad previously while David "Toy" Han was on vacation. Exiting the team entirely will be Mike "dapr" Gulino, whereas Toy will step down to a coaching role due to the player re-enrolling to university.
When asked for comment on the changes, Arnce said the following:
After an overall disappointing performance throughout this past season, we as a team realized that there were clashing personalities that hindered our growth. We tried to work out these internal issues for a couple of weeks and saw little to no improvement. At the end, we decided that with Toy going back to college, we thought it would be best to move toy to the coaching role and and replace him and dapr with Zellsis and mizoo.
The issue of late payments remains an open issue, though it is interesting to note that Zellsis referred to the team as "ex-Denial", and the squads team logo on ESEA currently features the Denial logo with a large "X" over it.
This leaves the Denial roster for ESEA Premier Season 26 as follows:
- Xp3
- flowsicK
- RIKO
- Zellsis
- mizoo
- Toy (Coach)
The first opportunity to see the new roster in action will be in an ECS Development League double-header on Tuesday September 12, where the team will play Tempo Storm and Rise Nation.
