Complexity pounds PERA in 2-0 sweep
Complexity has started their ESL Pro League Season 19 journey on the right foot despite some missteps against the European mix PERA. The squad secured a clean win on Anubis and Vertigo, the latter of which has become increasingly popular for Complexity. The squad now looks to the winner of HEROIC v. Ninjas in Pyjamas to determine who they will play on Thursday.
Anubis was not an easy map for Complexity as they started on the weaker CT-side and we immediately put on the back foot thanks to a lost pistol round. While the Americans were able to come back to take a 4-2 lead, it would be short lives as it ended in a 6-6 half. The second half also became worrying as Complexity lost the second pistol of the game, but rallied to take an 11-8 lead before eventually closing it out 13-11.
Vertigo was another back and forth map as Complexity barely scraped by with a win against the much weaker PERA. Complexity lost their third pistol in a row and suddenly found themselves down 0-4 on the T-side. The squad rallied back and was able to claim the next seven out of eight rounds to give themselves a 7-5 advantage. Complexity finally won the last pistol of the match to help propel them to a 13-9 win and a 2-0 series victory.
Complexity, with a win under their belt, will now face the winner of HEROIC v. Ninjas in Pyjamas on Thursday.
